Video: What should an employer do when a sexual harassment or discrimination complaint is received?

Video Transcript:

I'm Elizabeth Schlissel. This is Tannenbaum Helpern's HRMinute. When a company receives a complaint of sexual harassment or discrimination from an employee, they should conduct a prompt and thorough internal investigation. Conducting a prompt investigation sends the message to the employee that their complaint matters and thoroughly looked into. When deciding who should conduct the investigation, companies often retain counsel due to to their unique knowledge of the law and potential exposure to liability. If you have any questions about retaining counsel to conduct an internal investigation or conducting an internal investigation in general, please contact the attorneys at Tannenbaum Helpern.
