Video: Changing social norms in the workplace

Video Transcript:

Hi, I’m Andrew Singer - welcome to Tannenbaum Helpern’s HRMinute. We recently did an HRMinute on hugging in the workplace, and since then there’s been a lot of news around the actions of Joe Biden. And, to be clear, this HRMinute has nothing to do with politics. What it has to do with: an incredibly changing society and what is or is not appropriate in the workplace. Please know, in 2019, what may be inappropriate, not necessarily unlawful in the workplace, is very different than three, five, ten, fifteen years ago. We must train our HR staff, managers, about these new social norms and norms in the workplace, so that we can properly address internal HR complaints, so that we can build towards an appropriate workplace culture, where there is far less risk of sexual harassment and other related discrimination lawsuits. Thank you.

This HRMinute is a follow up to the HRMinute on hugging, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Rx5d.... In this video, employment attorney Andrew Singer addresses the changing norms in today's workplace and what companies should do to ensure a positive corporate culture.
