New York, NY -- At the Alzheimer's Association, New York City Chapter's 2012 Forget-Me-Not Gala, held at The Pierre Hotel on June 4th, the association presented Neil E. Botwinoff, a partner in Tannenbaum Helpern's Real Estate Department, with its first ever Board Recognition Award. This star studded, black tie annual event celebrates and honors individuals who are dedicated to fighting Alzheimer's disease through their fundraising, care and volunteer efforts.

Mr. Botwinoff first became involved with the Alzheimer's Association of New York approximately 10 years ago when he volunteered his legal services. Over the years, he has advised the Association on its commercial real estate needs, most importantly the negotiation of the Association's lease at 360 Lexington Avenue and its recent expansion at 360 Lexington Avenue.

"I am honored to receive the Board Recognition Award from the Alzheimer's Association of New York. Unfortunately the business of providing services to Alzheimer's patients is a major growth industry. The Alzheimer's Association of New York needed to expand its physical plant in order to accommodate a greater population of patients, care givers, staff, programs and services in general. We negotiated a doubling of the space at 360 Lexington Avenue, now comprising the entire third and fourth floors. I would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the Alzheimer's Association of New York's Board of Directors and staff led by Lou Ellen Barkan for their relentless efforts in raising awareness of this dreaded disease and raising funds to research its prevention and cure," said Botwinoff.
