Tannenbaum Helpern Litigation and Dispute Resolution Partner Maryann C. Stallone Receives Distinguished Service Award from New York State Bar Association
05.22.2024 • Press Release
New York, NY, May 22, 2024—Tannenbaum Helpern Litigation and Dispute Resolution Partner, Maryann C. Stallone, received the Chair’s Award for Distinguished Service from the New York State Bar Association (“NYSBA”) Commercial & Federal Litigation Section (“Section”) for her service and dedication to the Section.
At the Section’s Spring Meeting this past weekend, the Chair of the Section, Anne Sekel, noted that in addition to Maryann’s leadership in serving as Treasurer of the Section, Maryann reinvigorated the Section’s Mentoring Committee and had taken significant steps to support women lawyers by organizing and chairing the Section’s Taking the Lead program, held at the Daniel Patrick Moynihan United States Courthouse for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York this past fall. Taking the Lead is a program that showcases women commercial litigators through the re-enactment of an actual civil trial and features an awards ceremony to present the Hon. Shira A. Scheindlin Award for Excellence in the Courtroom. The event also awards the Hon. Judith S. Kaye Commercial and Federal Litigation Scholarship to female litigators exemplifying excellence in commercial litigation skills and practice. Maryann was elected Vice- Chair of the Section this past January for the upcoming year.
“Maryann pours her heart and soul into and has a profound impact on all she does,” said Tannenbaum Helpern’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Chair and former Comm Fed Section Chair, Paul D. Sarkozi. “Our clients have reaped the benefit for years and now Maryann is bringing that same commitment and effectiveness to her work for the Section. We are delighted that the Section Chair recognized Maryann’s contributions and are proud of all Maryann has done to help mentor junior lawyers and promote leadership roles for women litigators.”
