NYC Comptroller Investigation
Our employment law attorneys represented a company providing services pursuant to contracts awarded by NYC through the competitive bid process. The employees' wages were subject to prevailing wage and supplemental benefits requirements. A few former employees filed a complaint with the Office of the Comptroller of the City of New York which then opened an expansive multi-year investigation and threatened our client with disbarment. We vigorously defended the claims and ultimately negotiated a settlement that was monetarily a fraction of the original claims, did not include any admission of wrongdoing by our client and allowed our client to continue doing business with NYC.
