Biography
Brandon Reiner is a partner in Tannenbaum Helpern's Construction & Design Law practice. Brandon focuses his practice on the representation of developers, owners, condominium and co-op boards, landlords, tenants, contractors and professionals in connection with construction projects throughout the country, including ground up developments, renovations of existing buildings, landlord or tenant build-outs, daily operations of existing buildings and renovations of residential units. In connection with this representation, Brandon regularly drafts, reviews and negotiates construction management agreements, architectural services agreements, various construction contracts and various professional services agreements, utilizing both manuscript forms and AIA documents. Since construction projects often require access to neighboring properties, Brandon counsels both project owners and adjacent owners on their rights with respect to such access, including the negotiation of license agreements. As construction projects progress, Brandon advises clients on issues that arise, such as liens and bonding, change order disputes, other contractual issues and defective work. Additionally, Brandon regularly drafts, reviews and negotiates contracts for the daily operations of buildings, including telecommunications, marketing, maintenance and software as a service. Brandon’s variety of experience throughout the lifecycle of construction projects and his understanding of the daily business operations of building owners makes him a trusted advisor to his clients.
Some of the clients Brandon represents include Vornado Realty Trust, Fisher Brothers companies, Albanese Organization, Jack Resnick & Sons, Inc., Time Equities, Inc., Cammeby’s International, Trinity Church Real Estate, Rockrose Development Corp., Sterling Equities, The World Wide Group, the New York and Brooklyn Public Libraries and Friends Seminary. Currently, Brandon is representing Vornado Realty Trust in both its construction of new development sites and renovations and build-outs of its existing portfolio of properties in New York, California and Florida. Further, he is representing The AM Group in its adaptive reuse of a former industrial building into a multi-tenant “tech flex” space in Pittsburgh.
Brandon also has experience in many aspects of transactional real estate. He represents commercial real estate owners, purchasers and lenders in their sales, acquisitions, joint ventures and financing of commercial properties as well as commercial landlords and tenants in lease negotiations. Brandon also represents purchasers and sellers of residential condominium and co-op units and houses.
Prior to joining the firm, Brandon worked in the legal department of a public benefit corporation that funds multi-family affordable housing through the use of bonds and tax-credits. While at the corporation, he worked on deals that funded both new development and preservation of existing buildings, as well as Hurricane Sandy recovery and resiliency financings. Brandon also drafted and reviewed contracts for a boutique law firm, which represents companies in corporate and real estate matters.
